The Hearing Company supplies a range of high performance, single person audiometric (hearing test) booths to suit the modern audiometric practice.
Fact: Standard consulting rooms, even those that might seem “very quiet”, rarely meet the AS1269.4 specifications. In fact, formal noise level recordings in many consulting rooms around Australia show that background noise is commonly well above the AS1269.4 specification, and highly likely to affect hearing test accuracy.
Fact: Booth can only ever be “sound reducing”. Low-frequency noise, in particular, can fairly easily penetrate most structures, including an audiometric booth with 50mm or even 100mm thick walls.
Rather than aiming for “sound proof” (impossible), the purpose of an audiometric booth is to be “noise reducing”; with sufficient reduction to allow the person being tested to hear very soft sounds (for example, 0dB).
Achieving high levels of noise reduction is a technical challenge, however all our booths are designed and constructed with acoustic insulation firmly in mind. Formal assessments show that we consistently achieve the noise level specifications of Australian Standard 1269.4.
We offer three models of audiometric booth: Ezi Booth, Flexi Booth and Maxi Booth. All booths include the following features:
Options: maintenance kit, USB connection socket, extra window in door
