This course is no longer available
This was the WorkCover WA-approved course for achieving Approved Audiometric Officer (AAO) status with WorkCover WA.
Due to significant, imminent changes to the WorkCover testing scheme, we will no longer be offering the Audiometric Officer Course.
Is the long-standing WorkCover WA hearing testing program still going then? Yes, but not for long…..
From 1 July 2024 WorkCover will terminate the hearing testing program familiar to many companies, clinics and testers. Essentially, the WorkCover database for entering testing results will close. There will be no more requirement to complete “WorkCover hearing tests” and lodge with WorkCover. There will be no more training of Approved Audiometric Officers. WorkCover will no longer require registration of audiometers and booths. You may wish to contact WorkCover WA for more information about the changes.

All industries in WA are required to comply with this new law. From an audiometric tester’s perspective, there are similarities to the WorkCover testing scheme. However, there are also some very significant differences.
The Hearing Company has developed two courses to train testers in the skills and knowledge required to achieve competence in conducting regulation 58 tests:
